Made for Excellence (MFE) Conference

Who: Sophomores & Juniors

Location: Monterey, CA

Date: January 10-11, 2025 (overnight)

Cost: $165 per student

Application Due: Wednesday, November 20, 2024

  • Made for Excellence (also known as MFE) is a leadership conference that teaches the
    r
    equired skills to become a successful leader in your chapter and community. 

  • Available for Sophomores or Juniors that have not attended MFE before. 

  • Get ready for an adventure unlike anything you have experienced so far: a jam-packed weekend where sophomore FFA members explore the truth about leadership, the influence an individual can have and find themselves in this one of a kind relationship building experience! You will spend the weekend learning about your core values and how to genuinely connect with other individuals. Enjoy time in a nice hotel, experience a crazy dance and meet FFA members from across your region here at MFE: Adventure Awaits!

Who: Juniors & Seniors

Location: Monterey, CA

  • Advanced Leadership Academy (also known as ALA), is run by the State Officers and seeks to develop agriculture literacy in the leaders of tomorrow. 

  • Members who have attended MFE are eligible to attend. 

  • What could your FFA chapter accomplish if it had the tools and strategies to be truly powerful? Get ready for ALA: Be The Change! During this conference, chapter members will discover how to best work on a team in order to achieve a common goal by experiencing the four stages of team development; Forming, Storming, Norming and Performing. While working in their chapter teams, students will uncover the steps to developing improvement plans for a chapter event and showcase their idea to other chapters at ALA. Members will leave with dozens of new ideas, ways to add agriculture to any chapter event and the ability to Be The Change in their chapters!

Sacramento Leadership Experience (SLE)

Who: Seniors

Location: Sacramento, CA

Date: February 25-28, 2025

Cost: $350 per student

Application Due: December 13, 2024 at 5 pm

Students step into the role of one of California's State Legislators, are assigned a specific California district and spend four days in Sacramento. SLE is all about the role of government, agricultural policy and advocacy. At California FFA’s capstone conference, individuals and teams are prepared to make things happen. Skills for solving problems, making decisions and accomplishing goals are developed. Students step into the role of one of California's State Legislators, are assigned a specific California district and spend four days in Sacramento. SLE is all about the role of government, agricultural policy and advocacy. This conference focuses on "DO: the ability of the individual leader and team to put their vision into action.”

State Leadership Conference

Who: Freshman, Sophomores, Juniors & Seniors

Location: Sacramento, CA

Date: April 3-6, 2025

Cost: $450 per student

Application Due: Friday, December 13, 2024

Signature Sheet & Deposit ($200) Due: Tuesday, December 17, 2024

Full Payment (Remaining $250) Due: Friday, January 31, 2025

  • Over 7,000 high school students, advisors and guests attend the largest annual statewide
    Career Technical Student Organization (CTSO) conference in California

  • Students will participate in exciting leadership workshops, listen to dynamic and
    hilarious public speakers, and tour innovative farms and businesses in the agriculture industry. 

  • FFA Members will have the chance to meet the new state FFA Officer team and listen to
    their inspirational retiring addresses. 

  • The conference encourages students to develop personal and team leadership skills,
    discover agricultural careers, establish lasting friendships and strive for success.

  • SENIORS: Seniors will have the lowest priority due to the fact that they will be graduating this year and not coming back next year. Seniors will have priority if, and only if, they apply for a scholarship, committee, compete at the state level or run for state office.

National FFA Convention & Expo

Who: Sophomores, Juniors & Seniors

Location: Indianapolis, Indiana

Date: October 29-November 1, 2025

Application Due: TBD

  • With approximately 70,000 individuals from across the nation attending, National
    Convention is the largest convention for youth in the world. 

  • Hollister FFA attends National Convention every other year: 2024, 2026, 2028

Washington Leadership Conference

Who: Sophomores, Juniors & Seniors

Location: Washington, DC

Date: Summer 2025

Application Due: TBD
